World Travel destination to Casa Loma

Casa Loma is now a museum and landmark in uptown Toronto, constructed in the Gothic Revival style. It was originally a residence for financier Sir Henry Mill Pellatt. Casa Loma was constructed over a three-year period from 1911-1914. The architect of the mansion was E. J. Lennox, who was responsible for the designs of several other city landmarks. In 1903 Sir Henry Pellatt purchased 25 lots from developers Kertland and Rolf. Sir Henry commissioned Canadian architect E.J. Lennox to design Casa Loma with construction beginning in 1911, starting with the massive stables, potting shed and Hunting Lodge a few hundred feet north of the main building.

The Hunting Lodge is a two storey 4,380 square foot house. The house cost approximately 3.5 million dollars and took a team of 300 workers three years to build from start to finish. At 98 rooms, it was the largest private residence in Canada. Notable amenities included an elevator, an oven large enough to cook an ox, two vertical passages for pipe organs, central vacuum, two secret passages in Sir Henry's ground-floor office and three bowling alleys. Most of the third floor was left unfinished, and today serve as the Regimental Museum for The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada. Pellatt joined the Regiment as a Rifleman and rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the Commanding Officer.

Casa Loma has five acres of gardens. An underground tunnel connects Casa Loma to the Hunting Lodge and to the Stables Garage, Potting Shed, Stalls, Carriage Room and Tack Rooms. Sir Henry imported artisans from Europe to design much of the furniture and other features of the castle.Casa Loma is on Austin Terrace, at the north end of Spadina Road on an escarpment above Davenport Road. Davenport runs along the bottom of the escarpment which was the shoreline of Lake Iroquois, the predecessor of Lake Ontario. Casa Loma affords views down the escarpment and Spadina Avenue into the heart of Toronto. Stables located at 330 Walmer road and Hunting Lodge at 328 Walmer roads.

Australian Jenolan caves

The Jenolan Caves is an terrific caves in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, Australia; 175 kilometers west of Sydney. They are the most celebrated of several similar groups in the limestone of the country being the oldest discovered open caves in the world. They include numerous Silurian marine fossils of great interest and the calcite formations, sometimes pure white, are of extraordinary beauty. The cave network is enormous - over 40 km of multi-level passages - still undergoing active exploration. Several kilometers of the caves have been rendered easily accessible to paying visitors and are well lit.

Large portions of this extensive cave system are accessible only to cavers, especially those areas along the underground river system; but, there are Ten caves at Jenolan that have been developed for regular tourism. The huge Jenolan Reserve is a National Park, located in the World Heritage Blue Mountains Area; where sign posted bush trails often enable tourists to glimpse shy Australian birds and native wildlife, including kangaroos and platypus.

The Jenolan Caves was also a big winner, with The Magic of Jenolan receiving gold in the tourist attractions, silver in ecotourism for its The Ancient Underworld and silver in heritage and cultural tourism for Written in Stone. It got great confidence in Jenolan; it’s one of the State’s great wonders. It was the fourth year Jenolan had entered the awards and it had done better than ever. It helps to build visitor numbers from the current 230,000 annually about 75 per cent of visitors was domestic  many from Sydney  while 25pc came from overseas.

Great destination place in Germany

Had a nice Destination place in  Germany to visit Wilhelmshohe Hill Park which sits on one end of the city of Kassel, there stands what appears to be a medieval castle, It is always very soothing to our eyes to see the fascinating structures built in the ancient times. The Lowenburg or "Lion's Castle" was ordered to be built by the Landgrave Wilhelm IX from Hessen Kassel (1743 -1821) the Walt Disney of his era, over a period of eight years between 1793 and 1801 as a romantic ruin.

It was carefully designed by his royal court building inspector Heinrich Christoph Jussow (1754 - 1825) who had been trained as an architect and construction project manager in France, Italy, and England, and who had gone to England specifically to study romantic English ruins and draw up a plan for the Landgrave's garden folly. What the Landgrave did here was the eighteenth century equivalent of Disney World Tokyo.

Here, 1945 reception rooms in the keep tower and the passageway building no longer exists, or if so, only in rough form. This is why one now accesses the royal rooms in the manor house through the servants entry way. On the ground floor of the Landgrave's living quarters there is a guest apartment with dressing room, bedroom, and a toilet room. Via the servants' stairway one arrives at the Landgrave's apartment on the first floor. Today it houses an impressive gold leather tapestry which belongs to the gallery in the northern part of the passageway building.

Travel trip destinations to Maldives

The Maldives is an island country in the Indian Ocean formed by a dual chain of twenty-six atolls stretching in a north-south direction off India's Lakshadweep islands, between Minicoy Island and Chagos Archipelago. It stands in the Laccadive Sea, about seven hundred kilometers (435 mi) south-west of Sri Lanka and (250 mi) south-west of India.

Due to high levels of salt in the soil near the beach, vegetation is limited there to a few plants such as shrubs, flowering plants, and small hedges. In the interior of the island, more vegetation such as mangrove and banyan grow. Coconut palms, the national tree, are able to grow almost everywhere on the islands and are integral to the lifestyle of the population.

Variety of rays: Manta rays; Stingray; and Eagle ray. The Maldivian waters are also home for the whale shark. Maldives waters are home to wide variety of ecosystems, but it is most noted for their variety of colorful coral reefs, home to 300 species of fish.
